John Williams brings Hollywood magic to Tanglewood

LENOX – The audience at Tanglewood was transported on Saturday night to a battlefield at Normandy, the bowels of a slave ship, and a galaxy far, far away under the baton of maestro John Williams.

Williams and the Boston Pops provided 90 minutes of movie magic during the annual Film Night.

The evening offered the rare treat of witnessing Hollywood’s greatest living composer conduct his work with a world-class orchestra. Scores penned by the five-time Oscar and 21-time Grammy Award winner were interspersed with a few selections written by his peers.
