NEW DATES: New courses will begin in July. Fill out the form below for more information.

Thank you so much for offering this course.  I believe this will be extremely beneficial to my future conducting.  I plan to go over the materials periodically to make sure I retain what I have learned.  Honestly, it’s one of the most put-together and tangibly useful courses I have ever taken.

Anyone interested in a conducting class this summer? Anthony Trecek-King’s course was fantastic! Highly recommend!!! – Amanda

Learn new conducting techniques, break bad habits, and expand your repertoire of gestures in a four-week virtual course for music educators. Includes weekly group and individual instruction. Space is limited. Fill out the form below to request more information.

Conducting Course Description:

The fundamental goal of any conductor is to bring music to life, first by interpreting a score, then communicating musical ideas to the ensemble. This requires both verbal and non-verbal communication. Verbal communication is powerful and yields great results, but is inefficient and time-consuming. Non-verbal communication, such as gestures and body language, improves rehearsal efficiency and is required for great performances. In this virtual conducting course, you will develop the essential skills that every conductor needs.

Each week we will discuss and put into practice various elements of conducting. Participants will explore the physical sensation of conducting, eliminate bad habits, and establish clear effective gesture.  Group class size is limited to ten to allow for more direct instruction.
